I was about 8 years old when my brother brought home a 69 Mustang. He worked on that car and drove it for quite a while before trading it in for a pickup truck. Something about that car stuck in my hear, and all through the hayday of the American Muscle Car, I help the dream of one day owning a Mustang.
By the time I was old enough to drive, and start lookign at cars, the Mustang was a shadow of it’s former self, and more like a family car than the Muscle Car that it once was… the dream cooled and the Mustang went to the back burner. I ended up driving a string perfectly reasonable cars…
When I moved back to the US a few years ago, and started racking up the miles for business travel, I was diligeant about packing the money away into a side account, specifically because I knew I would have to replace my car sooner than normal. With that, I kept looking around and keeping track of the trade in value for my ‘perfectly reasonable’ Chevvy Sonic… Eventually the nubers worked out and the money in my expense account, plus the trade in… came up to just enough to clear my dream car…
My 2019 Ford Mustang V6
It’s been a very long time, but this car has finally replaced my old Cavaleer as my favorite car.
